The Sonshine Learning Center is a new, faith based, non-profit, licensed preschool which:

• opened September 2, 2008;

• enables young children to learn through everyday play and positive social interactions with each other and staff;
• utilizes daily activities that are designed to nurture the cognitive, social / emotional, physical, spiritual and creative development of each child;
• and provides hands-on involvement with materials and equipment to develop self-sufficiency, self-confidence, self-esteem and sensitivity toward others.

What We Offer
A Biblically sound, faith-based curriculum, WEE Learn, approved by the Sarasota Early Learning Coalition. The curriculum:

• places emphasis on social skills, language skills, large and small motor development; and
• is discovery-based on the concept that development in the physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual realms is interrelated.
• Fun classroom projects and activities that promote positive values and faith lessons.
• Weekly Chapel time with songs, short Bible stories and prayer. Also, lunch and snacks are preceded by prayer.
• A healthy and safe environment with a qualified and caring staff.

Goals

• To provide educationally sound opportunities for self-development and socialization with others in a Christian and developmentally appropriate setting.
• To provide families with the security of knowing their child is in a happy, healthy, clean, safe and nurturing environment.
• To serve both the child and the family by acting as a resource for families.
